Smart Phone Card
If you are looking for a smart phone card, I hope you know what you’re looking for and have easier time finding information than I did. I thought it would be easy. After all, how many kinds of cards are there? There are calling cards, international calling cards, and a SIM card to unlock locked phones. In addition there are all kinds of card games and casino cards for your smart phone. The latest thing is a little device to turn your smart phone into a card reader. Of course the credit card companies will be thrilled to learn that pretty soon, now in some places, you can use your smart phone to make payments, eliminating the need for a debit or credit card in the near future.
They are proposing a partnership between AT&T, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile with Discover Financial Services and the Barclay’s banking conglomerate. Mobile billing via the wireless carriers would place the charges on the monthly wireless bill. Some transit terminals are already accepting smart phone payments for trains and subways. It won’t completely replace credit cards yet, but debit cards may be damaged if this technology takes off as predicted.
Prepaid calling cards for your Smartphone may be purchased from your carrier or online.
Typical users may be students, travelers, military personnel, missionaries and business travelers. Using a pay phone is very expensive and outside of the U.S. can cost you as much as $1.00 per minute. The use of a smart phone card will save you quite a bit.
Keep in mind that it is more economical to purchase several cards in smaller amounts so that you can use up the minutes in one call. It may save you additional fees trying to keep the unused minutes.
I was amazed at the variety of smart phone software. You can download games, maps, textbooks, dictionaries, weather, music, and translators just to a name a very few. Most of these are fairly inexpensive and some of it is free. Who doesn’t love free? I was watching Rachael Ray the other day when she announced that there is a smart phone app that lets you cook right along with her. You can shop on QVC right from your phone. There are also organizational programs that allow you to keep your financial information handy and secure. In addition, you can watch TV, chat with your friends, send and receive e-mail, and read a book from your smart phone. I am not much of a technical person, but the whole idea of this is intriguing. Maybe if I start simply with a smart phone card, I may get hooked and want to try more.

Could Next-Gen Consoles Cost $99? Is $99 a good deal for an Xbox 360? Well, maybe. If you don't have a credit card and you don't mind paying extra for the console over a contracted two-year period.
